Road Sense has been working hard over the last two years in the campaign against the road. As you may be aware, Stuart Stevenson, the Transport Minister, has announced that there will be a public local inquiry (PLI) into the AWPR.

We are convinced that we have a very strong case against the road, as we believe the arguments put forward by Transport Scotland are very thin, with many inconsistencies. We firmly believe that we can win at the inquiry. We have secured the additional assurance that the First Minister has promised to make a final decision based on the findings of the Inquiry.

At this stage, our main witnesses are in place and fees have in most instances been provisionally agreed. They include one of the UK's leading transport consultancies, one of the UK's leading experts on sustainable transport and a leading landscape architect. We will also be presenting evidence on the environment and ecology, as well as air and noise pollution and other topics.

As you will appreciate, we require considerable funding in order to present a credible and successful case at the Public Enquiry. We would be grateful if you would consider helping us to fund the campaign.
